Anyone starting Central St martins in September for BA? I'm doing graphic communication design!
Not dorming, so trying to talk to a few people before hand. 🥲💔

How are you finding it? I’m considering ual for some form of graphic design/communication but unsure which college to apply to.

Hi! So I'm only two months into the course but have DEFINITELY found this course different to Graphic design at Camberwell, based on what my friend studying there suggests. An Ex student who gave us a tour on the first day told us that he didn't draw a single thing in three years for his degree, which seems entirely possible now that I'm doing this course for myself. The teaching style is a big step up from sixth form in terms of independence, and most of the briefs given are quite vague or conceptual. There are so many different resources at your disposal which is cool, but this course is definitely mostly about DESIGN and functionality and your audiences and thinking through making, over just making pretty typography or visual art with no depth. It's been very confusing for me but it's early days and there is support in place (kind of?) if you need it! Let me know if you have any other questions haha that's just my experience so far

I've recieved an offer from CSM graphic communication, but I had my eyes on camberwell's graphic design as I've been there on an open day. I've been studying graphic design full time for two years now on UAL's extended diploma, coming from a fine art background, and I'm so curious about, if I do get the choice and camberwell do make me an offer, which would work best? Apologies this is a few months late and a tad over the top... anyway! i have a few questions: contact time / in college time per week, mandatory, what does that look like schedule/ time wise? additionally, I've heard CSM has more limited access to things like printers. coming from someone who loves working with both digital and traditional work and intertwining them both, do you think there'd be room for that at csm! and finally, do you have a rough idea of how big the course is? Thank you so much !

Heyy I am also applying to graphic communications at CSM but only submitted my application on the 15th Feb, how long did it take for them to give you an offer after you applied? I've heard that CSM can be quite slow 🙃
