Changing course at university

I am about to start studying psychology with a foundation year at university , however I've come to realise paramedic science is 1000% the career I want to pursue and plan to try swap my course to paramedic science with a foundation year when I get to uni as all spaces through clearing are full. Does any one know what the process is like swapping a degree course , especially when it comes to degrees with placements like paramedic science . Taking a year out is not an option for me and my plan is basically to switch psych with foundation to paramedic with foundation , however don't know what the process of this is .

Your chances of switching to Paramedic now are essentially zero.
All places will be taken - its very competitive - and do you have any relevant 'caring' experience?
