Accounting and finance degree

To anyone who has done an accounting and finance degree or are currently studying the course at university, is it interesting? What are your favourite parts of the course?

As a numbers guy, I found management accounting preferable to financial accounting. I enjoyed business economics as well as quantitative methods, business finance, and financial management. For finance, I enjoy corporate finance more than most other modules. I also have a keen interest in portfolio theory as well as financial mathematics.
I wasn't a fan of financial accounting, auditing, or anything that involves a lot of judgement and is too descriptive.

Do I find it interesting? The thing is that I did A Level Maths, so a lot of the maths were relatively straightforward. Unless you're applying for a quantitative joint finance degree (will ask for A Level Maths), you might find the whole ordeal a bit of a snooze-fest.

There is a lot of interesting things that you can learn about finance, but you would need to learn the material outside of uni unfortunately.

Thanks so much for the advice! I was a bit conflicted on whether I should do accounting and finance or not but a lot of people say they don’t enjoy the course and I looked at the course overview and I realised it’s not for me unfortunately

Have you found out what you'll be interested in?

Do note, you can always go into accounting after uni with a degree in any subject. Most employers would care more about your A Level grades than your grades for your degree (although your grade for your degree would also be taken into consideration).
