Hi guys, basically i got a pretty **** ucat 2370 b2, and i was thinking either foundation year or switch to pharmacy, would it still be worth volunteering in a hospital from sep to march? Would this make a difference in pharmacy applications

You could take a gap year and redo the UCAT if you want to do medicine. Idk about volunteering for pharmacy sorry

The lowest accepted UCAT score I know of is around 2000 (University of Nottingham) but I think anywhere between 2400-2600 should be good for Nottingham and Keele, but I know Leeds' cut-off score is higher than that (I applied to those so I'm unsure about any others). Hope this helps!

Thank you for this r u doing foundation year at the moment I wanna ask how it’s like ? Because I’ve been told it’s just one year extra but after the one year do you move onto the first year course of medicine or is it separate ? As in you when you graduate you get a foundation course and not an actual medical degree

Next Step Bristol | Study at Bristol | University of Bristol

You dont need specific work-experience in a Pharmacy - and sometimes this can be hard to get - but obviously this would help confirm that it is actually the career you want to do.

Customer service work-experience is useful, if only to answer those 'explain a situation where you dealt with a difficult person / situation' interview questions - any sort of retail, hospitality or charity shop stuff would be fine. And yes, hospital w/ex is also useful, Pharmacists also work in hospitals, and 'understanding' the NHS is valuable background knowledge.

Hi, after the foundation year course you are transferred to the normal 5 year medical course. During the foundation year course you learn about Biology and Chemistry as well as anatomy and communication/professionalism skills. Your degree will be Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery
