I'm really stuck on what to do

I have achieved 5A*s in my A-Levels and my place at LSE for Economics is confirmed, but...

I have this gut feeling that I don't want to go, for a few reasons:
a) I prefer studying maths rather than economics, and maths is much more respected
b) London is very expensive and a gap year would allow me to build up some money
c) I feel that I would be much happier studying maths

The only thing stopping me from taking a gap year is the real risk that I don't get an offer for maths from imperial, cambridge or warwick, which would mean I need to downgrade in terms of prestige (From LSE Econ)

Also, everyone tells me it is stupid to reject LSE econ but it really does not feel right at the moment

I think I have an inferiority complex so studying economics when I see people say its mickey mouse/for idiots is really demoralising (i struggle with comparing myself to others) and you cannot get better than imperial/cambridge for maths

I'm completely stuck right now and I don't know what to do, please any advice would be greatly appreciated
Is there an amount of time to pull out before making payments to the uni, almost like a tester? I know someone who pulled out after 2 weeks and didnt end up paying anything, but im not sure where they went/what course and it may differ uni to uni. I'd say maybe reach out to both current, graduated and drop out students if possible - look up why i dropped out of x uni etc (Not too sure on this idea but it popped into my head) - Ultimately, uni is a big commitment and if you don't feel comfortable i'd say don't throw yourself into a 4 year programme you could end up regretting, there's always next year/is deferring your place possible? I's say go with your gut honestly
If you have any doubts about doing this subject, then take a gap year and think.

Just ask LSE if you can defer your place. This gives you until January to work out what you want to do and reapply if necessary. Time to go to Open Days, listen to Maths etc subject presentations and work out if its really what you want or not
