How do you know if you're accepted to your University Accomodation

I applied to 2 flats, one that is sponsored by my University (University of Liverpool) and the other which is owned by a private accommodation. I want to live in the flat that is sponsored by UoL but I don't know if I have been accepted to it as I have no confirmation email. I'm confused because I want to know if I should cancel my application to the accomodation for the private company.

"When will you receive your accommodation offer?
Accommodation Offers will be sent from Monday 19 August in application date order. Those who applied earliest will receive offers first, and we will continue to offer accommodation to all students who have applied. It may take up to 2 weeks for you to receive your offer. Rest assured we will be in touch as soon as we can."
