Uni students/ sixth formers please help

is economics, psychology and geography alevels a bad combination? results day is TMRW and i’m still not 100% sure on what alevels i wanna do😭😭 other subjects i’m considering is business, biology, possibly chemistry alevels or even an it ctec or applied science btec

just to make clear i have no idea what i want to do in the future so trying to keep my options open - recommendations would help!

Do you plan on doing anything maths related in the future? (CS, Econ, Physics, Engineering etc) as in is that on your radar?

I would advise you to take maths since it is applicable to a lot of courses, do take a science subject if you want to pursue something related to science and If you choose an essay based subject, you can apply to humanities/social science courses.
For example, if you wanted to take maths, physics and economics - this is probably not great IF you are not sure on what course to do since there are maths related elements in the other two subjects. But at the same time don't make your subject choices too random ,
I KNOW THIS IS HARD 😭
Do ask your sixth form teachers in the enrollment process (if you have one) for advice.

Some unis do not accept btec so be aware of that, if you deffo want to do a science based course and want to get to Oxbridge, they almost always ask you for 3 science subjects

you don’t really need to worry about combinations, i did Art Biology And Chemistry and Got all 5 Uni offers from russel group unis and am going to UCL in september. Just decide a rough idea of what degree you might want to do, and look what subjects they might require, usually 2 sciences and one free subject (Art) but other unis will just require one science, so really it is just chose subjects you enjoy and think you will do well in, because an A in a weaker subject is better than a C in Biology.

Generally, most universities are fine with a “strange” combination.
Say you were applying to Bristol uni to study economics, they could ask you to get a B in economics and 2 Cs in other topics.
That’s what I found to be the case anyway, I can’t say that for absolute certain, but I am pretty sure.
It might be a bit different for the likes of Cambridge and Oxford so you might want to check their websites if you’re thinking of applying there.
Try and do things you enjoy, it helps a bit.
Good luck with your results tomorrow!!

Where did yu get that info on Bristol from? Their website says; A*AA including Mathematics
