Should I get a tablet for uni?

This September I'm going to study English and Creative Writing.
I intend to do any creative writing and essay writing on the computer. However, I'm considering getting a cheap tablet to make notes with a tablet pencil with one of those apps, and also to highlight and anotate academic articles or books that I get online.
Is it worth it? Should I just use my computer or should I try to take notes by hand?
Thank you in avance!!

That is a great question!

I completed my Creative Writing degree(s) using a PC, Tablet and handwritten notes.

My pen and notebook were always with me; these never needed charging and can work in the rain 😄
I still carry a small waterproof notebook!

The tablet was great for those in-between times when I needed to work but did not want to lug a laptop around. I used it all the time in class for note-taking and writing. It was really helpful for downloading books and highlighting texts.

My tablet was a cheap Android type, so I could use Word and keep everything on my cloud drive. I would highly recommend them for Creative writing.
