Twyford CofE or William Perkins

I’m going into year 11 in september and i have to apply to sixth forms not long after and i’ve been debating going to twyford, william perkins or just staying at my own school. for twyford the commute is long at least 40min each way whereas for william perkins and my own school it’s about a 15 min walk. i want to get into dentistry and was wondering which would be the best. i also want to do bio chem and psych (maybe maths instead) at alevels
Twyford is (apparently) a kinda strict school, and there are 4 sets of exams each year. William perkins idk.
Look at each school's stats, may be kinda hard to find on the website but check. Also, go to their open days, since you can have a feel for their school and what it's like.
I stayed at my own school bc the teachers knew me and i knew what its like and how its set up etc

thank youuu. i’ve checked their stats and tbh twyford has better results for a levels but i’m worried about the distance and also about how strict it is. my own school has okay stats, not the best at alevels but i know all the teachers. i’m still conflicted but i’m gonna go to their open days and see how it is.

I'd also draw your attention to the fact that some universities (e.g. Oxbridge) look at your results IN CONTEXT, so it would be more impressive (to them) if you got good results in a sixth form which did okay or average than if you got those same results in a school with better average grades. I've heard this before but I'm not sure if it's relevant or useful to you, so do whatever you'd like, I just wanted to mention it as it might help. 😊

Just to note that neither Oxford nor Cambridge offer Dentistry. I'm sure it's true that other universities also contextualise but Oxbridge isn't likely to be relevant in this case.

In your own school, youre more likely to have friends staying there, teachers know you and you know your way around the school. Twyford and William Perkins are both similars schools, but Twyford requires higher grades or a higher score in the entry exam. From what ive heard Twyford is stricter, however they both are good schools. You should go to the open days and see how the school looks and speak to the sixthformers! High school life and sixthform life at those schools are most likely very very different.
