Not sure wether to quit my job in third year

So basically it’s just what the title says lol. I got a job in first year but was already reluctant as I knew that in college my mum and other people gave me a lot of pressure to get a job however I didn't feel I needed one as I get money from my dad every month plus I had student bursary and so I thought it’d just be an additional stress as I have ADHD and really struggle to stay on top of my work as it is. However, at uni I went to one close to home so I could commute rather than live in to save money and I also decided to get a part time job so then I have a bit of extra money and can afford to pay my mum board and potentially get a car and so on. However, I’ve really really struggled with doing both uni work and having a job for the last few years and as the workloads become heavier I’ve struggled a lot and it’s impacted my mental health quite a lot. On top of this, I don’t enjoy my job at all as when it’s been term time and I’ve asked to do 15 hours in a week so then I can also have a day to rest and do any extra work I’ve often been rota’d in for 25 hours due to constant understaffing. Also my job doesn’t have a staff room, or a toilet or running water which feels borderline illegal lol. Anyways, my current dilemma is I would like to quit my job and feel that it’d be feasible as I’ve worked out a budget working around my student finance income and also have a backup emergency fund for just in case and my boyfriend agrees that it’d be a really good idea as he’s seen how’s stressed I’ve been for the last few years. However, whenever I’ve mentioned it to anyone in my family they’ve said it’s a terrible idea however their only reasoning is essentially that I’ve got a job and I shouldn’t quit it because “a job is a job” however, nobody else in my family has gone to uni or cared very much about how they’ve done in college and I feel like they don’t understand that I’m not just quitting because I don’t like my job but also because of the bonkers amount of extra stress that it’s put on me for the last 2 years. So basically I just want to know if I am being silly and it doesn’t sound like a good idea or not (sorry it’s very long winded, I’m a chronic yapper).

I’d say quit your job, you can always get another job after your degree, but you won’t get a second chance for your degree. Plus, your degree would help you get jobs, so in my opinion it’s worth focusing one year on your degree. I hope this helps :’)

The only person doing this degree is you, so you know best 🙏 you don’t want to live with the regret of not trying hard/knowing you could have done better if you quit etc. trust yourself, and good luck with your degree 😁
