laet mental health support

hii, im hopefully starting LAET this september (2024) and ive been struggling with my mental health a lot recently. i havent been able to leave the house all summer due to dpdr and agoraphobia and obviously, tomorrow is enrolment day.

will laet be providing mental health support ? just asking any former or current students, because i honestly don't know if i'll be able to start school straight away in september (i begin therapy in september) and i might be ready to begin going to school in late-september, october ish. of course id be doing work and catching up, but its just the going-outside aspect that is really challenging for me.

will i be able to get a period of leave until i am ready to start laet (only for a few weeks) or is that unacceptable for them ?
just asking for advice, because i really love laet and have been looking forward to starting it for ages - i don't want my mental health to get in the way of my future and i think some advice will really help.
thanks x

as an laet student, the mental health support is absolutely horrid and they’ve made me seem like a villain. the treatment makes me question myself, am i really that insane? but no, i show normal signs of mental health struggle and they can’t deal with it

Iam actually really interested to know who u are cuz i haven’t even seen of your posts/comments that says anything good about LAET🤣

We have designated mental health lead who has an office who you can book meetings with. Although not certain, I imagine LAET would prioritise what you need best for your mental health
