Pgce time off

Hi there,
I am starting my PGCE in September, but I will need to skip 4 days of my school placement in November as I have a wedding to attend in South Africa. D0 you think they will allow me to do that? I am willing to do those placement days later in the year or during June/July. Is that possible?
Thanks
It should be fine, you just need to let both your university and placement know - they understand that sometimes things are book waaaaaaaaay in advance and out of your control. You need to have done 120 days in placement to pass so 4 days is fine - unless you need to take time off for sickness etc.

Hi,

I would recommend that you let the university and your placement know, as they might have certain policies/ regulations regarding taking time off during placement. As every school and university may have different policies or regulations regarding this.

As far as I’m aware, as long as you complete all the required hours and give enough notice, you should be fine, but it’s always good practice to double check!

Good luck with your PGCE!
