Access to medicine

Hello, I'm going to study Access to medicine course. But in my college they have biology, chemistry and psychology for this course. So I'm bit confused whether it is correct to study psychology instead of physics. So can please tell me, is there anyone like me?

Hi @Harsha_203

If this is specifically an access to medicine course, then it should be fine. I did an access to science course that covered biology, chemistry, a little bit of physics, and psychology, and it was a course that was suitable to apply for medicine. I decided to study biomedical science.

Different universities may have specific requirements for the access courses that they will accept, so it's best to contact them on a case by case basis to check if your access course modules are accepted by that particular uni.

The psychology module is definitely relevant to medicine, as it centres a lot around ethics, stress, pain, research techniques. All these are beneficial in the way you deal with the wellbeing of a patient and their physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual (PIESS) health needs.

Best wishes,
