UCL Chemistry year 2 and 3

(urgent)
how difficult is year 2 and 3 for UCL Chemistry? I found year 1 really difficult to understand and get my head around the concepts. I am worried I won't manage in year 2, especially because Chemistry is not something I love, I am just doing it for a STEM degree.

so essentially I just want to know: is year 2 or 3 WAYYY more difficult than year 1?

Why are you "just doing it for a STEM degree"? What's the STEM degree for?

Also tagging @CheeseIsVeg to offer some advice about what you can expect to come in a Y2 & 3 of a Chem course at uni (not UCL).

Well, a STEM degree is generally better for career prospects as it leaves you open with more doors, also I was kind of pushed into university by my parents, and they insisted on me doing a "good degree" and in their eyes that is a STEM degree...but anyway that isin't the point anymore because I can't go back in time, I just need to figure out what to do going foward now, but I don't know if I should drop out and reapply for a course I would actually like.

What would you rather be studying?

Honestly if it's anything like my degree, it only gets harder
Year 2 is usually when mathematical concepts in physical chemistry get tricky, you'll do lots of further maths concepts to get through the quantum mechanics, there is a lot of trig / complex numbers / calculus type stuff. In terms of the other modules, likely just another step up and more content to get your head around

I would really advise that unless you have a natural affinity and ability in the subject, if your heart isn't in it - it's going to be so hard for you to do well and get through the exams/coursework as chemistry is a challenging degree
