Lancaster Colleges

Hi, I'm a soon to be undergrad at Lancaster and I want to ask a few questions:

1. Since Lonsdale is in the postgraduate part of campus, I want to know if that college houses post grads as well or if it is strictly for undergraduate students.

2. What is the walking distance between the Science & Technology faculty and Fylde College? They look quite close on the university map.

Hi @Luluco13 thank you for your question and congratulations on your place to study at Lancaster!

In terms of your question regarding Lonsdale College, Lonsdale is just for undergraduate students. As a fellow Lonsdale member I lived with just undergraduates in my first year on campus. The post graduate college is located on South West Campus, just like Lonsdale but they are separate colleges e.g. postgraduate explicitly houses postgraduate students.

In answer to your question about the distance between the Science and Technology faculty to Fylde College, they are pretty close to walk between, should not take you too long, possibly around 5-10 minutes depending on the person!

Please let us know if you have any further questions!

Thanks for responding!! Glad to hear you were also an undergraduate at Lonsdale. How long would you say the walk from Lonsdale to the Science and Tech faculty is?

Hi @Luluco13 No worries! Yeah of course, if you have any more questions about Lonsdale as a college please fire away! I would say the walk should take you no more than 10 minutes. I really liked the fact that Lonsdale was on its own separate campus as it really creates a detachment away from the busyness that the main campus can have. Think of it as your little commute to and from your lectures/seminars.
