I am stuck between two universities

I have Brunel university, electronic and electrical engineering offer in clearing and I also have Cardiff University as engineering foundation year. I am not sure which is the best so can you give me ur opinions?
Brunel is fine - an excellent Uni for STEM subjects. and this would avoid the extra expense of a Foundation Year.

Both are solid options, the benefit of Brunel is you don’t have to do a foundation year. Within engineering they have similar reputations, Cardiff certainly has a stronger “brand” although unless you want to work internationally or pursue a career outside of engineering this is not significant.

Assuming you’re funding this via SFE, id choose based on where you’d prefer to spend your student years. I.e. type of city/cost of living/geographical factors that you prefer

Do you have any preference of area? Your course will be 3 years at Brunel but being outer London, living expenses are likely to be greater.

Hi @Khaled123?

I would definitely echo what the others have said and have a think about where you want to be in the country! Brunel has great links to central London, so if you are looking at doing a placement year that may be something to consider if you want work experience in the capital. It's also worth weighing up whether you want to do an extra year foundation. If you decide to go on to do a masters after your undergrad that will mean a total of 5 years at uni which is very different to 3!

I don't study engineering but I have been a Brunel student for the past 2 years and it's a great uni with a great community feel and lots going on!

Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck with your decision 🙂
