A level repeat

What should I do when I get DEU in my As level and my teachers advise me to either repeat AS or to do retakes (I do Art, Business and Geography)

I concur with your teachers, do a resit of your first year.

Having said that if you're based in the UK and you're doing full A Levels, you can always proceed with your A Levels and hope you can turn the whole thing around in your second year. This is risky though and you might not pull through. Your college will also need to be willing to let you through to your second year.
