Gcse results day 2024
Hi guys. Since results day is actually tmrw, the pressure is really getting to me. This is probably gonna sound like a really long rant but Id really appreciate some advice for tomorrow. I’m normally predicted 7/8’s and a couple of 9’s from my mocks. But I’m genuinely so scared from what I’ve written in the real thing.
Literature paper 1 was good but I literally ended up writing 2 sentences for my last conclusion of Jekyll and Hyde because I ran out of time. And paper 2 was also pretty good but I couldn’t finish the last 8 marker (only wrote one small paragraph) and I feel like I’ve overanalysed the 20 marker on unseen poetry and it was quite rushed. I’m really hoping for that 9 so bad but I’m so worried now that I think back to it.
Language paper 1 went well although I felt like I could’ve written more for the creative writing section even though it’s my strongest point. I think I only wrote like 3 pages but I managed to use structure and good vocab except I think it just didn’t make sense. I chose the description of the hot desert which I was describing well in the first paragraph. And then I turned it really dark and changed the entire atmosphere. I don’t know if that will work and I’m so so scared. Language paper 2 was alright but I didn’t write enough for q5 AT ALL. I was running out of time and managed to write only two pages but I did try to make it very dramatic and used different sentence structures and punctuation. But I don’t know if I can make it to that 9 which I really need. (I do Aqa btw)

But other than that it was good and I’m still really worried because I need that 9 too because biology is a strong subject of mine. But I managed to finish both well and include as much detail possible in case I’m missing out on marks. I’m really worried because I just need to secure the 3 9’s in bio chem and physics, and the two in English.

I barely wrote a paragraph for the last 8 marker. Paper 2 and 3 were far better though but I still feel like my answers could’ve been a lot better.
Im really hoping for at least 6 9’s and I’m stressing out so much because a lot of people are relying on my to get those grades. I really don’t want to sound ignorant with these grades because I know they are really good anyway but this is just something I want to make myself proud in.
I hope I’m not alone in this and that there are perhaps ppl who have been surprised with their grades in the past despite not finishing on time 😭😭

You got this!! My results day for gcse was 2023, don’t stress too much! If you feel you did well, bottom line is you probably did! If your marks are close you can always easily ask for a remark, sometimes it’s fine automatically (only if it’s 1 mark off a grade boundary) I didn’t do great for mine (my own personal fault) but even then I did a lot better than I thought!! I genuinely believed I failed a lot and didn’t, If that’s any consolation?

They’re really good!!! I dont know much about medical schools etc, but any college will take those grades!

Chem: 8 (only 2 marks away from a 9 so might get a remark 🤞🤞)
Physics: 8 (3 marks away from a 9)
RS: 8 (1 mark away from a 9!!!)
Maths: 7 (2 marks from an 8)
Sociology: 7
French: 6
Further maths:5

Yess I’m staying at my schools sixth form and I’m taking bio chem maths and psychology for a levels in September. Planning on medicine

I got
Combined science 8-7 I was a bit disappointed as I thought I would get like a 9-8 (2 marks to get a 8-8)
English Lit 7
English Lag 7 predicted 5 for both English and I hate English didn't do anything so Im very proud
Math 7 (2 mark from 8 thought I would get a 6 after edexcel Paper 1 was wicked
RS 9 even thought I think I did bad in the 3rd paper
History 9

Health and social care L2D

Noo don’t be!! I know these aren’t what you might’ve wanted but honestly they are really good grades. You should defo be proud of yourself. Gradings we’re quite harsh this year. Are there any subjects where your only a few marks off the next grade?
