ps for compsci vs compsci & AI vs compsci with placement year

hi, i'm currently writing my ps and i want to apply to some unis for computer science and AI, others just for computer science. my ps has a roughly 50/50 split for AI compared to other areas of computer science, so that's fine, but i'm also wondering if i need to be really explicit about my interest in AI compared to other parts of computer science - or will that be a deterrent for pure computer science courses, because it might suggest i don't have the necessary breadth of interest? am i better off just applying to pure computer science for all 5 unis?
and then another thing is, if i'm applying for a placement year at some unis but not all, do i need to acknowledge it in my ps/will i be disadvantaged if i don't justify why i want to do it? i'm not sure if it's even something that people mention in their ps or not.

When i applied for computer science , I applied for both computer science normal and computer science with Ai to the same uni cause at that time i wasmt sure on which on to pick. The 50/50 split is totally fine and do mention the areas of computer science you like, and it wont deter you from pure computer science. For example i didnt mention AI in my ps but mentioned othet areas like programming but still got an offer for the Ai course too.But do also mention other areas of CS you like alongside AI to help or maybe mention what you did in A levels and how you would like to further develop the knowledge gained at Alevels.
For the five unis , it is good to apply for a mix of pure CS and CS with AI. But its your choice ultimately.
Lastly you dint need to mention the placement year because that comes between the 2nd year and 3rd year and unis then ask you if you want to do the placement year in the 2nd year. So no need to mention it in the personal statement.
