Uni of Huddersfield: any mature student nurses?

Any mature students or just anyone on here doing nursing at Huddersfield this sept? Most of the threads I’ve seen are about the blended learning course so I’m just wondering if any mature students on here will actually be attending the uni?

I’m starting Huddersfield in January to do my MSc Adult Nursing. It’s 2 years opposed to the usual 3 years.

Hey, i didn’t even know they did January intakes. I’ll be starting in September and I’m hoping I’m not the only mature person in the cohort lol. Are you local/commuting or will you be relocating?

Yes I’ll be commuting about 40min journey. Yes they do the 2yr Nursing degree for mature student , but you have to hold a degree already to do the 2yr one.

Oh yeah I understand I mean I thought they all started in September. Me too I’ll be commuting from Leeds so not as far. I was hoping they might have groups or something where you can meet other students before starting as I doubt I’ll be going to any freshers events but can’t seem to find anything. If you happen to come across anything feel free to send me a message and best of luck for January

Yea some degrees begin in January. Some units do two intakes that begin March and Sept. My first month when I start January will be with all the new student from mental health, child, midwifery and adult nursing. After first month together we seperate into our own chose degrees. I’m going to ring the admission team up to see if there a pre meet or an opportunity to pop in before I begin my degree just to have a look around the uni. I’m so nervous in case I get lost etc 😂

Oh that’s a good idea, could you send me a message if you find anything out? Same, I didn’t even get to an open day because I applied so late. I guess you have some time until January to make one. Hopefully I’ll get to do a tour in welcome week to get familiar with everything.

Hi. I’m sort of mature. I’m starting in January if that helps 🙂 I went on an applicant day and there were quite a few students that would be classed at “mature” too x
