Will I be given deferral for newcastle uni

So, on monday I received devastating news that my nan only has 2-3 months to live. I had plans to attend newcastle uni this September for Law. Obviously I don't want to go for various reasons, one being that my grandad needs help in my cousins school runs as well as the housework. On top of this, I live around 4/5 hours from newcastle and so if i was to live there the guilt would be immense if I couldnt get back in time. Finally, I don't think I could get the same enjoyment and give university my beat with such. I applied for deferral on Tuesday, is it likely they're going to accept this? I told them briefly that I need to be home with my family due to my nan being given 2-3 months.
