Liverpool John moores v Edge hill university

I can’t decide between the 2 unis Liverpool nightlife is great but Edgehill is a lovely campus can anyone that been in the situation of picking between the 2 give me any advice or tips?
Hi Naimh,

It depends what you are looking for. At Edge Hill the campus is lovely, accommodation is on site, along with the library, gym etc all there, too. Ormskirk isn't as busy as Liverpool in terms of nightlife. Obviously it's a smaller town but it has bars, cafes etc, and it's not far to Liverpool and back for a night out anyway.

Hey! Choosing between two great universities that happen to be so close together is difficult!

I was an LJMU student for 3 years and I loved it there. Though the campus is different to Edge Hill in terms of how close it is together etc, do not let this deter you, as everything is so easily walkable, each campus is no more than about 15 minutes walk away from each other I'd say. Our main hub, The Student Life Building, is home to the SU and many other LJMU amenities, and this building is in the middle of the city centre with our John Foster building, Redmond's building and Byrom street campuses so near by. There are also many different halls around the city with different halls nearby different campuses so you can chose one that is best fitted to the buildings you will study at.

The Student Life Building is a modern site, with our gym, sports halls and library all within it. It is also home to the SU, advice and wellbeing hubs and Unitemps at LJMU- our own recruitment company that help students find part time work! Not to mention our library, which spans over 2 floors and is open 24/7. All campuses are close by, it is very easy to walk or get public transport to each part of the university.

I can safely say that LJMU has some amazing buildings and apparatus with modern facilities and some lovely peaceful gardens to enjoy too- for example, our John Foster library is a listed building with a lovely garden area to relax in! If you have not already, I would recommend visiting an Open Day where you can see the campuses for yourself and really get a feel for the amazing university that LJMU is. Visit our website to find out when our next events are and book in!

Good luck with your decision and hope to see you at LJMU
