The Student Room Group

When do we find out flatmates?

I've accepted my accommodation offer, but there's no information on flat number or room number. I thought they would've given this info with the offer so you can get early contact with flatmates??? Was worried I skipped a part of accepting the offer or something. Also, when does welcome induction page show?

Thank you

Although we have provisionally allocated you to specific room, this is subject to change for various reasons while we complete all the room allocations. So until you actually arrive and receive your room key, the room number may change, but don’t worry, your residence and block will remain unchanged. I know some blocks have already set up groups to link up with one another and you can be confident that this won't change. When you register with the University at the end of August you will see the provisional allocation, but it is provisional at this stage.

Details on how to book your arrival slot will be sent out from Tuesday next week, so keep an eye on your mails early next week. This will be part of the mail about completing the Student Welcome Induction. After completing the Welcome, you’ll have the opportunity to book an arrivals slot at your accommodation.

I hope this helps - do let me know if you have any further questions I can help with.

So for a building like Moberly which doesn't have specific blocks, will we not find out what room number/floor etc we are until we arrive? Thanks!

You will get a provisional room number when you register with us and then book your arrival slot (details about this will be sent from next week) but to stress this is provisional up until you actually get your keys. I suspect most of the time it doesn't change, but just forewarning you in case it does.

Hope this is clearer!
