should I do another a level in my gap year?

Hello!! I got AAB, on a gap year, really really want to do law next year at a really good university such as Durham (which requires triple aaa)... is it worthwhile to do another A-Level during my gap year (I live and breathe politics); don't really want to resit my b... (is that feasible to do in one year?) in order to have three A's to get onto the course? I don't think there is much movement for those courses with AAA (even though they accept AAB on those less predicted); the problem with final grades! What do you think? Would love some Advice  Thanks!

If your very dedicated maybe it worth trying although it's still a risk. If your main aim is to get an A, retaking is the safest way to get where you want and probably that what I would do in this situation. If you like another subject you can study it without an exam along retaking your B.
Whatever you choose good luck!

Wait let me clarify as I think I might of confused you a little... so I've got my final grades with AAB... I could resit the A-Level that I got B in (in order to get an A), but I don't really fancy it and so asking instead whether or not I should take another A-Level in a different subject which I think I will excel at... would love your advice on whether or not I should just take the grunt of resitting the a-level I don't fancy resitting particularly but I know the information... or should I go for a new A-Level such as politics... which is one of my favourite topics... squeeze that 2 year a level into one year studying... and get an A in that? (Plus will have 4 a levels at the end of it...

Yes, I got it right. Sorry, I will try to be clearer..
So, I ment you don't have to take a full a level to study politics. You can read many books and actually learn more than just for a level as you don't have to memorise all the content for an exam and it's also not risky, a year is definitely more than enough to get from B to A(maybe even push to A*) easily, that what I would do.
I guess you have nothiung to lose but it is a really big ask to learn all the content and to practise the exam technique to perform at top level in an A level in one year. Especially, I assume, by yourself and with no teacher guidance.
If you do this, make sure you research AAB universities to apply alongside your AAA chocies so that you have options in the event you don't get the A. Also check that places like Durham will accept A levels sat at different times rather than at one sitting.

Are you entitled to a contextual?

A-Level Politics is not too difficut compared to History, Philosophy, Religious Studies and English Literature.

So you can get a comfortable A grade and maybe with exam technique being perfected an A*?!

However, you could also retake the B grade subject alongside Politics, as you would have no less than all A*/A grades and even apply to Oxford, LSE, UCL, KCL and SOAS. 🙂
