Gcse results day2024

Guyssssss what did you get??? In the morning my friend wanted to check her results on edulink. She got two 4’s and she had never gotten those grades in her life. I got extremely scared and when I got my results I was also disappointed. I got :
Combined science-76
History-7
Maths-6
Re-7
Chinese-8
English lit-9
Englis lang-8
So my grade point average is 7.5 but due to this years error I will update on my business results too. I want to apply lae, NCS, Brampton.
They did me so dirty bc I was expecting at least five 9’s and the rest I didn’t care. I want to study English lit, history, Economics, philosophy. Anyone got into oxbridge with these results????
Let me know your stories😀😀😀

These are good GCSE grades and should be fine for Oxbridge. I wouldn’t recommend taking four A levels, as it’s unnecessary and has no benefit to your application. You may wish to start off with four A levels, if you are unsure about which subjects you’d like to study, but once you have a better idea, drop one of them as soon as possible. The workload for four A levels is heavy and could prevent you from getting high grades in the three that you need.
I got:
Maths: 8 (happy with this, I thought I messed up after paper 1)
English Lang: 8
English Lit: 8
Comb Sci: 9-9 (totally unexpected, science has never been my strongest subject and I wasn’t prioritising it, so wow)
History: 9 (so proud and relieved, I’ve worked so hard for this)
German: 9 (100%)
French: 9
PE: 9 (I thought I could get an 8 if all went to plan! Shocked and pleased)
Extended Project Qualification: A* (I really wasn’t sure how I’d done or what they were looking for, wasn’t given much support, so biggest shock of it all tbh!)

Planning to do A-Levels in German, French, History and Maths next year. Hard work pays off!
Hope everyone else got the grades they want and deserve!

These are superrr good I hope you got into your fist choice. I’m disappointed in my re scores because I worked hard and wrote so many quotes used vocabulary like imago dei. And I literally so disappointed. Well done though

Awhhh you did so good. I’ve always wanted to get these results but I kinda revised night before exam so I’m still happy for THAT but if only I revised early. It’s my biggest regret but I’ve learnt my lesson now. I hope to do good in the future and you too.

Honestly, don't worry my friend. GCSEs aren't that big of a deal anyway, and besides they're just numbers on paper, and they do not define you or your efforts. You worked your socks off and should be 👏. If it makes you feel any better, I thought I did really well in my DT exam, but I ended up getting a 5 😅
