Hello, have you accepted your offer? If you have I can follow up on this for you.

My daughter got an offer from York on Tuesday via the UCAS hub but only received anything directly from York today including details of the you@York thing.

Hi, my youngster is about to submit their UCAS application to study archaeology, and the bioarchaeology course at York would be their top choice. They have been passionate about this subject for many years (Prof Alice Roberts is one of their inspirations) and are studying Biology, Chemistry and History at IB Higher Level. They have been told that they have a very strong PS, which includes experience at a neolithic dig which they found and organised by themselves. However, their predicted grades currently stand at 33 total (6-5-5 at HL), and the published required total for York is 34. They are actually convinced that they can achieve a fair bit higher than their predicted grades - they moved to a new school system a year ago and are improving steadily. Is there any point in applying as an aspirational choice, or will not meeting the published required grade result in an automatic rejection and a wasted UCAS space? Thank you!

Hi there,
Have you still not received any correspondence? If not please drop us a DM with your daughter's name, email, and UCAS number and we'd be happy to have a look for you.
Thanks

Hi @Barbamama
It's great to hear about your young person's passion for the subject! We'd really encourage them to apply.
Best wishes,
Bea

My daughter received an unconditional offer (she already has her A Level results) to study English & History. She heard three days after applying so hats off to York for being so organised and quick.

Thank you Bea, they did get an offer of 31 if they complete a MOOC about stone age archaeology which they really want to do once the IB madness is over. It says it's a 4-week self study course, do you have any idea how many hours it involves?

Hi,

The recommendation is around 4 hours per week 🙂

hi just wondering if anyone knows if it's normal to have not received an offer from york for bsc psychology still when i applied start of october? scared i'm gonna be rejected

what are your predicted grades/ a levels? it may just be a case of them waiting for all applications before sending offers to make sure they don’t send too many!

I got an offer in October but they did originally say it might take quite a while as I don’t have a second science A level. In the end I got the offer a couple of weeks after they sent me the original email.

I got an offer to study MEng Engineering yesterday, my first offer!
From the last time I checked, and looking at the uni's website, all engineering students get an interview before they get an offer - how come I didn't? My offer is conditional so I don't think I'm extra special or something.

Hello, I've checked in with the engineering department and they say they've recently changed things so that not everyone will be invited to interview now and you're not to worry about not being interviewed. Congratulations on your offer and hope to see you at York 🙂

I would contact them and check there’s not been an error. They are usually very communicative and quick I think.
