Am I cooked for oxford

Hi I achieved 9988888777 in IGCSE. To be frank I have had exceptionally poor work ethics (e.g. not revising at all during easter, cuz I was lazy...) which hopefully would not be the case in later years. However, there are brighter people with superior work ethics that got all 9s who would be a competitor

All I'm asking is that do I still stand a chance? I do have apt supercurriculars though.

Which subject would you hope to apply for? I believe Oxford still treat 9s and 8s the same, so your grades should be fine.

What you say about your work ethic is more the problem though. Oxford is a very intense university to study at. There's no point hoping your work ethic will resolve itself: you need to make the necessary changes to your work patterns and ethic, if you wanna give it a go!

I want to apply for PPE... not sure whether my grades are up to par though. All of my 8s are 1-2 marks away from a 9 btw. And my Biology is 2 marks away from an 8

They're most likely fine for PPE, the bigger worry is the work ethic. There's also the pre-interview test (TSA) that would be given more weighting than GCSEs, I'd imagine

Now after remark I am currently at 9998888877, I go to a high achieving international school, would cGCSEs affect me negatively in anyway? Also, I remarked one of my subjects and got +2 on P1 and -1 on P2, unfortunately initially i had been exactly 2 marks away prior to the remark and now I am 1 mark away which makes me even more frustrated. Is it worth a shot at appeals procedures?

As for work ethics I am getting back on track as I return to school. However, I am quite overwhelmed by the idea that predicted grades are rarely accurate and since we don't do AS anymore, wouldn't they put more weight onto GCSEs?

I'm afraid I can't advise about appeals procedures/processes for international qualifications, as I know nothing about them!

I'd say just leave it, the grades seem fine. Focus on improving aspects of your application that are yet to come/that are more within your control
