Sqa 2024 Appeals

Just wanted some advice,
I got a B in Higher English and I have the option to appeal to try and get an A.
The only issue is that I am 4 marks off an A and 6 marks off a C so I risk dropping down a grade.
I'm taking Advanced Higher English this year so I can't risk dropping to a C. Plus my parents think I should stick with my B and not gamble it away.
Getting an A would help my chances of getting into uni but it's not necessary, plus most sqa appeals don't result in a change.
I don't know what to do, I'm close to not appealing but I'd like some other opinions to make me feel better about my decision.
Thanks in advance!

Hardly anyone gets their results downgraded, like 2 people, so youll be fine if its unsuccessful. so i'd just appeal

4 marks is a lot to gain but in the same sense 6 is a lot to loose. In reality I think your chances of going up our extremely slim but going down would be virtually impossible. Is there a section in particular that you expected to do better on then you did ?

You've got a better chance if you were 1 or 2 marks off a higher grade but I wouldn't bother if you were 4 marks down.
Too late to appeal now anyway if you still havent done so
