A level resits

I achieved BBD in my a levels in maths, statistics and physics respectively. I have an offer from UCLAN for a mathematics degree. I was considering resitting maths and doing business a level in one year with college and then try get into Lancaster or Manchester. Unfortunately, my college have said I wouldn’t be able to do that. Now my only options are resitting maths and physics or resitting maths and privately studying an a level in one year then sitting the exams privately. Is this worth it or should I just go UCLAN?

I'd say it's worth resitting, especially when the difference in grades isn't that great. Whether you do one extra A Level outside of college or not is up to you. I don't know how well you would fare with Business Studies.

Hey there!

Congratulations on your A-Levels, you should be really proud of these grades!

Going to university is a big decision but I’d definitely recommend coming and having a look around UCLan and seeing if it is for you! Our staff are really supportive and we have a lovely green campus here.

When it comes to resitting it is completely up to you but I’d come and have a look around and see how you find the campus!

You can book a campus tour on our website Here

I hope this helps,

Rebecca, UCLan MBBS
