my year 11 blog !!

hi! i'm starting year 11 in two weeks and am very excited for this school year, so i'm gonna document my journey to getting high grades [hopefully haha]. i hope this can motivate you in some way :biggrin:

here's what i'm aiming for [based on predicted grades]:
- combined science: 9 8
- english lang: 8
- maths: 9
- further maths: 8
- rs: 9
- spanish: 9
- geo: 9
- media: 9
- creative imedia: L2D
year 10 exam results:
- portuguese: 9!
- literature: 8!

week 2!
definitely back into routine now but I've been sleeping at 11pm oops. I've had lots of things to do tbh, but it's good bc at least I'm not getting bored. i had prefect duty this week - not very fun - but I got to spend lots of time with my friends 😄
my most demanding subjects rn are definitely maths and further maths (my favs) ! I've had so many worksheets but I loveee getting them right hehe. fm this week was finding equations of tangents and normal 🙃 peter symonds came to my school on wednesday and honestly I can't wait to apply - my personal statement has been ready for agesss. i really hope I get in :P

fav lesson this week: science?!! i had a few practicals which actually worked for once. we've started learning paper 2 for bio and chem so it's been quite fun

worst lesson: Spanish - it's too easy so I just get bored [sigh]. i have some Spanish mocks this week so I hope I do good on them

speaking of mocks, I got an 8 in my year 10 re mock (yay). i never get 9s tho it's so annoying, I'll lock in for the december mocks 😅 this week's revision has been a bit inconsistent, so I'll make sure to do more next week. I've been using seneca for bio revision (loveee)
goals for upcoming week: finish english homework, finish media research, sleep earlier!!, actually follow revision timetable

a bit tiring but this week was fun 🙃 started off busy with college applications, but I applied to peter symonds on monday (yay) and just need to finish my barton peveril personal statement and I'll be all set 😄 I already have my interview date which is cool, and on that same week I'm going on a school trip to oxford omgggg!! only the top 15 students are going so I can't wait for that, my friend is going too so I wont be alone hehe. maths and fm are still being quite demanding, lots of worksheets and homework, but it's okay since it's my fav :P

fav lesson this week: further maths - I love learning the advanced content and all the people are really funny, quite fast paced but I sit with my bestie so it's fun 💞

worst lesson: english - I hate itttt ugh, so boring [stem girl for life]

spanish mock was really easy haha, ig I have an advantage speaking portuguese 😅 this week I have a biology test but photosynthesis has been good so I think ill do well

goals for upcoming week: do maths hw earlier (oops), practice more further maths content, get some more coursework done, revise :'(

week 4 and 5 :redface:

forgot to do this last week so let me do a re-cap oops

week 4:
the bio test went well, I got 26/30 (grade 8) while most of my class got 5s and 6s - I feel like plant structures is one of the easier topics tho so idk why. I had my school pic taken and honestly, it's not that bad, it's my last one tho so I was sad :frown:

I've been revising more consistently which is good, I hope to keep it up throughout the next few months

week 5:
went to the peter symonds open evening with my friends (even tho I've already applied haha) so we had a sleepover on a school night 😲 very tiring but it was good bc we locked in and revised RE together. we had our first RE test, I think it went okay but I might have lost a few marks so I'm predicting an 8 lol. I had a half day so I went to study in the library with my friends, I didn't get much done unfortunately so I'm going again on Monday with my bf 🙃

goals for upcoming week: keep my hw organised (I've had so many assignments), work on further maths, finish imedia coursework 🥲 start making revision resources - mocks in December aaah

sorry I didn't see this earlier !! honestly, a lot is going on rn and it's busier than in year 10, but I was expecting it. I prepared all my organisation methods during the summer so I think I've been on track so far. overall it's been a bit tiring but enjoyable, I feel grown up haha 🙃
