do i buy those fresher tickets...???

i'm on a load of gc's and they're advertising tickets constantly. i wasn't going to buy any since i read they were scams unless advertised by the student union, but they're doing a real good job convincing me by making it seem like everyone has them and i'm going to miss out lol...

The tickets are a scam. You can pretty much always by tickets on the door at just about every club in Exeter, so there's no need to pre-buy them in 90% of situations. Also, you're gonna meet people in your accommodation and through societies, and you'll want to coordinate going out with them, which if only one of you has a ticket for an event isn't particularly useful.
In short, don't buy them, have a look at what events are being run by societies you're interested in, and coordinate going out with your flatmates and people you meet at society taster sessions. That's the best way to meet new people and make friends during freshers week
I wouldn’t recommend them. You’ll work out throughout the week what events you want to go to based on the people you’ve met. Most of the best or most popular events won’t be on these wristbands.
I knew a lot of people trying to sell their wristbands during freshers week as they simply weren’t using it! Just work things out once you’re there. Follow the instagram pages of club venues and societies and you’ll work out what events you want to go to.

Those group chats are run by the companies selling the tickets. A lot of the people in the chat aren't real students.
