What do NPA qualfiiations do?

I'm S5 and currently sitting 4 highers + Games Development as a more relaxed subject amidst the workload my other subjects relentlessly facilitate. I'm wondering what NPA qualifications actually do tho? I just saw the subject wasn't an SQA Higher so I assumed that it won't really help much, but am confused as to where I could search to actually get a comprehensive answer. It doesn't really matter to me that much, just curious ig.

That's not exactly true that because its not a traditional Higher it's not mch, I think if an NPA has the same amount of SCQF points as a Higher (6) its basically equivalent. Also if you're planning on doing game development / computing or anything in that field it could help you a lot as it shows you have the skills necessary
Ah alright I got confused because the games dev course looked exceptionally easy compared to the other highers I was taking, good to know tho cheers
Some of my friends did Game Dev last year and had mixed feelings about the course. The key thing to note is that it won't really be looked at by universities so it will just appear that you have four highers, but it can be very helpful in terms of the content you learn and I think they can also help you get onto college courses as well. Since a large project is involved you could also talk about what you did on your personal statement. One of my friends really regretted it since it locked him out of some university options and means he can't get unconditional offers from most of them meaning he needs to do well in S6, but a lot of my friends really enjoyed the course and it didn't affect their options much.
Also in case you are unaware NPAs are marked differently to typical highers in that you don't sit an exam (it's all based on coursework) and they are pass or fail so you don't get a grade.
