IGCSE remark

My exam board in Pearson Edexcel IGCSE English Language A, and I have just received my grade, and I had acquired an 8 but after checking the grade boundaries, I realised that I am only 2 marks away from a 9.

I was wondering if I should pay for a recheck or no as a recheck costs about £90 per paper, and I also have the risk of dropping a grade or I will just waste a lot of money.

Should I pay for a remark?

It’s really a personal choice. I think most unis would look at a 9 and an 8 as very similar, especially if you come from a school where not many people get those marks.
So, it depends on what you want to do with your grade. If you feel you were on track for a 9 and want to prove it to yourself then I think it’s valid to ask for a remark. But for anyone else? Honestly, nobody asks what I got at GCSE and an 8 is brilliant!

heyy i ended up not getting a remark cause i asked my teachers too and they said it’s nothing of a big difference as tbh getting an 8 was way over my predictions already.
but some of my friends got a remark but sadly didn’t get any extra marks.
i think if your usual scores are much higher than this, definitely get an remark but for me it was already way out of my predicted scores so i didn’t get one!
hope this helped
