Dentistry 2025 Entry

Hi, I recently sat my UCAT and got a score of 2870 B2 with 3A*s predicted in Bio, Chem, and Maths; and have GCSE grades 999999998887; i was looking to apply to King's College and Bristol for Dentistry and I was just wondering if I have a good chance at getting in.

100% bro this profile is really competitive and I dont think that they will hesitate to not give you an interview atleast. Btw how did u manage to get such good ucat score and what strategy did you use for each section.

1.

bro id say for vr you should aim to do 8 passages out of the 11 with full accuracy learn to skim read and stuff
the method for vr i used is to read the first question of the set understand it read the passage for the answer and keep mental tabs sort of titles for each paragraph of the passage if a passage is too long id say guess flag skip and come back to it
id say vr is everyones lowest section so dw but i find that the passages are most similar in the exam to medify
dm id say do a decent amount of practise for identify your individual weaknesses with the different types of qs in the DM subsection and then focus on those weaknesses and practise
maths id say learn to use the calc on ur keyboard and practise lots of mental maths the acc exam the maths is very easy its just the timing
ar do lots of practise i did all of the qs on medify and i kept an anki of all the patterns i got wrong and made sure to go through them.

2.

Overall bro just do lots of timed practice as many mocks as you can without burning yourself out; honestly i wish i could've done more mocks so i wasn't as stressed when i took the exam but just do as much practise as you can

good job with your ucat!! im not sure about kings bc i didn’t apply there and didnt really look into it too much, but i got an offer from bristol so know a bit more about that. its hard to say really, as bristol doesn’t have a cutoff they just rank all applicants in order of ucat score them select the top 300 or so for interview, so it depends on how everyone else does. it could be a bit risky as in 2023 the lowest ucat for interview was 2850 but yeah it always changes

Yeah that high last interview is having me a bit split for decision whether I should put it; do you think i should go ahead apply or maybe it'd be better to go somewhere else i was thinking maybe Birmingham or Manchester im not too sure which one to go for

Bristol weighs heavily on UCAT score,so better to apply elsewhere where they give weightage to your brilliant GCSE and predicted grades like KCL, QMUL and Birmingham.

Damnn bro. You have nothing to worry about. Your defo getting interviews that's for sure. Make sure you have dental experience and volunteering work documented in your personal statement and your bing chilling

Sjt was just super hard, just looking for reccomendations on choices.

Hi everyone,
I am an Irish applicant looking to apply for BDS Dentistry for 2025 entry. This will be my third UCAS application for dentistry, I’m on my second gap year and hoping to finally get in this year. Irish qualifications are different to UK but below I have given UK equivalent as best as possible.
Stats:
Achieved: AAA H1, H2, H2, H2, H2, H2
UCAT: 2810, Band 1 SJT
GCSE: 9,9,9,9,9,9,9,8,7,7 (The two 7s could be two 6s)

I am thinking of applying to Sheffield, Cardiff, Plymouth and KCL. Would these be the best four options for me? Which Universities would you recommend I apply to with these stats.
Also what would be the best 5th medicine option, preferably one that doesn’t look at PS, as mine is dentistry orientated.
Any advice and help would be appreciated, thank you so much!!!
