also yes i am from tottenham! im struggling really hard trying to figure out if i want to go to laet or woodhouse its a pain. im glad to hear that there are many people from the area who goes there as well !! it makes me relieved to hear that! did you get to go to a woodhouse taster day in the summer by any chance? that would really help me figure out which school life i prefer more! ty again youve been an angel

ahhh omg!! i didn’t go to any taster day for woodhouse when i tell u i was sooo set on laet i went to every single evening/taster day laet had to offer and just had woodhouse as a backup so i was extra scared starting in september but its all been fine i defo recommend going to the taster day tho! you’ve still got a LOT of time to choose where you want to go i think ur best bet now is go to both woodhouse and laet’s taster days and whatnot and try and speak to people who have been to both there’s soo much time before you actually have to choose so don’t worry about it at all! tell me where u end up going i can’t wait to hear all about it!!

hi! im in year 11 and im torn between which school to go do go to 🥲. im considering woodhouse college but im not too sure about the student life and the teachers. how are the teachers at woodhouse? also, since you have a timetable mixed of lessons and many free periods, do you still get through the a-level content quickly during lessons? (sorry if this is badly explained) 😅

im in yr13 and we’re basically done with alevel content now, mocks is next week lasting 2 weeks so that affects us learning new content but we would be done fr in march, giving us quite alot of time to revise. Cant speak for everyone but my teachers are great and i actually understand the content. I can get away with not revising and still getting minimum B’s so…. Student life is great aswell, make a lot of friends at the beginning of yr12, people hosts parties, get togethers etc. skl in general is good, i feel like you would enjoy it x

it’s actually crazy how little it matters now! but yea i was so sad for no reason honestly😭 BIWEEKLY.. is insane i like biology! chemistry if im being honest with you i personally find quite hard the lessons are so bipolar one lesson it’s all silly and fun and the next feels like my teacher is speaking in a different language i seriously feel like its my teacher tho i despise his style of teaching💔💔 youtube videos before the lesson have saved me. the subject is only hard if you don’t understand what’s going on because the questions are simple ngl and they repeat the same things as over and over. bio’s good the content is easy to understand and i actually prefer what im learning to gcse way more interesting. its just the mark scheme thats a drag and so u just have to bang out lots of practice questions. my biology teacher is really sweet and i just have one sided beef with my chem teacher i just don’t know what it is with that class!! but he isn’t too bad he’s pretty chill. for biology you wouldn’t actually expect it but my teacher makes all the notes for us and so learning the content basically goes like this: my teacher spends the whole lesson breaking it down so everyone understands and then we basically fill in the gaps in our notes from whatever’s off the board if that makes sense all the notes she gives us are from mark schemes aswell so it’s really helpful. my chemistry teacher honestly doesn’t teach okay the way i honestly despise him a little😭 he just explains for like 15 minutes and then picks on people the whole time so i’m more focused on getting picked than understanding so yea a bit annoying. you honestly might enjoy his style of teaching i’m just not a fan. with the prep you are expected to consolidate after every lesson and this doesn’t mean you have to do the most and do every single question on whatever but just watching videos, making flashcards etc. i actually get homework for chemistry really regularly like he’ll always give us something for the next lesson. but it’s never anything crazy it’s always just finishing the work in class. pre learning will help you out sooo much. reading the textbook or watching videos before class will help u out sm. they don’t mention pre learning a lot in gcse but definitely do it for alevel!! the lessons zoom right by and this’ll mean u won’t have to do more work later.

haha! i do chem asw, who’s ur teacher??
