Uni accommodation help

So I found a very good uni accommodation studio for a really really good price with everything Included. The only problem is that the day I can move in is the day I start uni. So I was looking for some tips on what I could do and how I can work around this. My family is dropping me off and helping me get sorted. I’m definitely going to for this because it’s so amazing and I have throughly looked everywhere else. So just looking for tips on how I should do it maybe and what I might need that I might not think of.

Hey @Cookie pie ,
Congratulating on starting your university journey soon! 🎉

Moving in accommodation the same day you start university can feel daunting - but with good planning, it is very doable and manageable! Here are some of my recommendations -

Pack Smartly - I'd highly recommended to label your boxes and suitcases. It can help avoid confusion and stress of finding things in the chaos of unpacking.

Unpack essentials first - It might be a good idea to pack a separate box of essentials that you can focus on unpacking first. And if needed, you can focus on unpacking the rest and setting up your room gradually over the next few days.

Plan in advance - You should plan on how and when are you planning to move in at the accommodation in advance. If you are going from home, you can consider taking a few basic groceries with you so that you don't have to go shopping on the first day.

Be flexible - Things don't always go as planned, so try to be mentally prepared for this! And remember - you don't have to unpack everything on the first day itself. Trust me, you will have plenty of time to settle down and get comfortable.

A few underrated things you might need are - laundry basket (preferably with wheels), a first aid kit, over the door hooks, a reusable shopping bag, small cleaning supplies, cards or boardgames (to play with friends), and room decorations to make your room more cozy and comfortable.

My advice would be to contact your student accommodation and check what kitchen appliances (like toasters, kettles, etc) and other essential electronic appliances (like iron) they provide. This will help prevent overpacking. And don't worry if you forget to pack a few items - you can always get it after you have moved in! Personally, amazon was a big live safer for me.

I hope this helps!

All the best,
