Changing school for sixth form?

I'm just about to start year 11 at my current school, but I'm thinking about changing school for sixth form, buy I only have 1-2 months left to apply for schools. The schools that I am thinking about applying to are NatMatSci, Lancing College, Wellington College, Concord College and Oundle School. If anyone goes to any of them or knows anyone who goes to any of them, what have your/their experiences been like? I deal well with pressure, so its not a worry for me if some of the schools are high-stress environments, although I would like to avoid hothouses.

Thanks
Hi Amilie,
I work at Lancing and attended the Sixth Form (some years ago). My advice would be to visit the schools you are interested in, as you will know from the feel of the school which one is right for you. We would be delighted to welcome you for a visit. Let me know if I can help with that. Good luck with your search, Sarah

Considering the geographic spread of the various places you are considering, my guess would be that you're going to be a boarder. If I'm right, I would contact them all and see if they have space for you - it is quite possible that this close to the start of term that they might be full (although in the current climate who knows?)

I know a thing or two about Concord, you're welcome to quiz me either here or via TSR messaging.

I go to a boarding school at the moment so its going to be quite hard to visit schools without letting my current school know that I'm thinking about leaving, and I don't want to tell them until I have an offer from somewhere else.

Also, what's the application process for Lancing like? If I'm predicted 5 9s, 4 8s, 2 7s, and one subject that I don't have a predicted grade for yet, how likely would it be that I'd get in? I don't want to apply if I have no chance of being accepted

I'd be applying to start September 2025, and they all have sixth form application routes.
Do you mind telling me what you know about concord?
Thanks

If you’re planning on going to NatMatSci, make sure you want to be studying purely stem subjects for alevel and uni
Besides that, it’s actually relatively chill, and the teachers and students are really supportive! the boarding rooms are also pretty good (you get your own room and en-suite!)
i think you still have time to apply, since when i applied there it was January ish, so you still have a decent amount of time ^_^
good luck with your GCSEs!

Hi Amilie,
Sorry I only just got an alert from your reply! You look like a fantastic candidate, so I'm sure the College would be delighted to have you here. Did you start the application process yet? We do have our own test for entrance and I believe it is happening soon.
I went to Oundle - it's good fun, dynamic, diverse and v good if you're academic and put in effort. All subjects are strong - best school for science in UK. History department are v good. Generally teachers are great. Warning it is full boarding or day. You can't leave it for the weekend.
I think with your grade predictions, given how few Oundle let in at sixth form... they could reject you. But I know it was based off interview too etc. But most who go for sixth form won't have a seven. Mostly straight 9's (a few 8s_
