This may not be the answer your looking for but no one can recommend good uni's to you without knowing the course you want to do firstly. Even then, the top ranked universities for that course may not be suitable for you. I'd suggest looking at the course structure for the degree you aspire to pursue at different universities. I think UCAS may even have a course comparison tool which allows you to select different courses from different universities and compare them. Goodluck!

Well then, what if the course is engineering?

Better but that still doesn't help. I will be studying aerospace engineering next month at qmul. I chose qmul because of the course content and proximity to home, although better uni's for aero I would say are both Southampton and Sheffield. Whilst I did get offers from the 3 uni's, there were other reasons which factored into my decision making. I also didn't mind choosing qmul as I want to do a masters after undergrad and want to possibly apply to those uni's or Cranfield. Choosing a university is quite subjective and depends on what your prioritising. Is it course structure, proximity to home or social life? Maybe something else. But for aerospace that is what I would recommend. I also applied to mechanical engineering at UCL and got to do summer school there but in the end I didn't end up liking it too much. It was a shame as the facilities are great however they mainly focus on naval, biochemical, energy, robotics and nanoengineering, none of which I was particularly interested. If your applying for mechanical I'd say bath and bristol are really good. Check out their course.

Hi, with strong O and A-level grades and a good SAT score, you already have a solid academic profile for engineering. Extracurriculars are nice to have, but they are not the main factor for most UK engineering admissions. Universities in the UK focus much more on grades, subject requirements, and your personal statement.

If you are open to different parts of the UK, you have a lot of options. I would recommend having a look at Lancaster University. It is a UK Top 10 university with an Engineering Department that covers mechanical, electronic, chemical, and nuclear engineering.
Key benefits:

Flexible first year where you can explore different branches before specialising.

Modern, well-equipped labs and strong industry links for placements and projects.

A friendly collegiate system that makes it easier to settle in and meet people.

Guaranteed first-year accommodation on campus for international students who apply by the deadline.

Located in a safe, student-friendly city with good transport links to Manchester and London.

You can check Lancaster’s Engineering courses and entry requirements here. I also recommend for you to look at our Student Societies here to see if you can find a community that interests you.
Even without lots of extracurriculars, you can make your personal statement stand out by talking about what drew you to engineering, any problem-solving experiences you have had, and how your academic skills prepare you for the course.

Please feel free to ask me any questions!

That’s an impressive academic profile. Your strong O and A Level results and great SAT score really reflect your hard work! Even if you have few extracurriculars, universities like Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) value dedication, academic potential, and personal drive. InshaAllah, October will mark the beginning of an exciting journey for you at a university that will support your goals."
