A Level Art

Hi, im starting year 11 in September and my school is telling us that we submit our choices for a levels after our november mocks, so i want to choose the following A Levels: Art and Design, Politics and History, but i didnt do art GCSE so my school said i have to submit a portfolio, but i dont know what they mean and what i should include in it, can anyone help? any replies are greatly appreciated
A portfolio is a collection of artworks to show that you can make art to the expected standard to begin the course. There may be details of your prospective sixth’s website of exactly what they want but broadly they want evidence you can actually draw and paint etc to a good standard.

I would recommend looking online at GCSE portfolios and asking other people in your art class who would have done GCSE for help and guidance. I would stick to 2-3 mediums but include sketches as A level, at least in my experience, has been very specialised.
