Transferring from certHE to integrated masters

Hi, I’m going to be completing a certHE this September for one year. I’m then looking to progress onto an integrated masters degree at a different university in September 2025.

How do I go about applying for the new course at the new university while completing the certHE? As the deadlines for many courses on UCAS is the 31st January.

Please advise!!

Why are you only doing 1 year at this University?

It’s a certificate of higher education qualification, which is only for 1 year.

Is this a specific course - or have you only done 1 year of a degree?

It’s a specific course, it’s designed to allow progression onto undergraduate degrees

First of all, you need to email all of the Unis you want to apply to with the exact title of this course and Uni where you are taking it (a link to the course page is also useful) and ask if they will accept if for the degree course you want to do. I suspect this is actually an Access to HE course?

When you apply though UCAS, you would list the course you are doing in the same way that others would list A levels etc as 'pending qualifications'. Any Uni who wants to make you an offer would make this conditional on you achieving certain grades in your course. This means that you can apply before your results are known - and before the Jan UCAS deadline - and then wait for offers.

no it's a FY that Roehampton have rebadged as a CertHE to get more funding/market as a freestanding FY course even though it wouldn't be accepted for Yr 2 entry anywhere (including Roehampton).

I don’t think it is an access course, as it says on their website that it’s a certificate of higher education. It’s equivalent to first year of an undergraduate degree, but since I’m moving on to complete a different course I’d have to start from year 1 in that course.

Thank you so much for the help regarding the UCAS application  was really confused about how to input the qualifications etc.

You college should be able to advise you about how to submit a UCAS application - ask your course tutor etc for help.
