if anyone went from a third too a first how did you do it in engineering ?

i got a third year 1 and wanna get atleast a 2.1 or even a first in my second year, in half of my CW i achieved roughly a high 2.2 it was the exams that let me down. so im interested in what you guys did to get that first in year 2 or 3 e.c.t

Get as many points as possible from other things that affect your final score - assignments, presentations, lab work, projects, etc. , but if your main reason for lower score are exams then you'll definitely need to focus more on learning the theory and preparing for every possible question that can come up on an exam.

There is no trick to it, just study more and prepare better.

Ultimately exams are the lion share of your grades with the exception of the dissertation element of your degree.

If you achieved a third on your exams you really need to take a new approach. Especially as the jump from first to second year is probably larger than the jump from A-levels. The good news is in general a good strategy and work ethic can make a huge difference.

Id strongly recommend covering the key principles, then smash out practice questions, then practice past papers repeatedly finally ruthless accountability.
