Need Advice on A-Level Choices for Computer Science Degree

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the process of choosing my A-levels and could really use some advice. I'm interested in studying Computer Science at university, but I'm not sure which A-levels would best prepare me for it. I know that Maths is important, but beyond that, I'm a bit lost. Should I take Further Maths, or would subjects like Physics or Economics be more beneficial? Also, how crucial is it to have prior experience in coding before starting an A-level in Computer Science?

I also check this: What a-levels should be the best for computer science degreemendix But I have not found any solution. Could anyone provide me the best idea for this? I had really appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through this process or who has any insight.

Thanks in advance!

Yes maths is important so definitely make sure to take that!
Further maths is good for top unis but depending on your school may have to be taken as a fourth so if this is the case for you then think about whether 4 subjects is a good fit for you- I can help you weigh this up a bit if you need it later
Lots of cs applicants opt for a subject that fits well with maths: physics, econ, comp sci. These are not required any are likely taken as they fit well with maths and cs applicants have an interest in maths based subjects broadly speaking.
Basically i would suggest taking maths and 2 subjects you enjoy and do well in if fm is a fourth and consider taking fm as well OR maths, fm and a third if your school allows that- again a subject you enjoy and are confident in works best

Maths is the only one you need. For imperial, cambridge and oxford you need further maths too.
