It is definitely worth it to take a gap year, and reapply ! It is super common to take a gap year in fields like medicine, use this year to boost your application and redo the UCAT, schedule it for the end of september if you haven't already and buy medify/medentry's monthly subscription, it shouldn't be too diffcult considering you're already familiar with what the UCAT is like, so the score will likely improve 
. Use this year to genuinely smash those A-Levels, best of luck, you can definitely do this, and your hard work never goes unnoticed <3
