Can't progess to next year of uni

Hi, just received the news that the project I completed during the summer can't be marked because my supervisor isn't available to mark it in time for the examining board due to submitting late. I had filed an EC for a late submission but it got approved for a first sit instead because of this.

I got told that my supervisor emailed me to let me know if I submitted late he couldn't mark it (I checked many times and it isn't true). Because of this I can't progress to the next year of my degree. Can I appeal this?

So, you submitted an EC to submit it during August and they accepted? or did you submit an EC for deferral which states you submit it in January?

I had to file an EC earlier this year as I wasn't well enough to do the project then so it got delayed until August. I submitted my project past the August deadline with an EC for my late submission to be accepted without deduction of marks because I had extenuating circumstances. They confirmed I didn't submit too late for the EC to be accepted or anything, just that my supervisor can't mark it so they gave me a first sit in January instead. But I don't have enough credits to progress, partly because one of my other module marks got discounted because everyone did so badly and also this.

I would say speak to your SU, they know a lot about the regulations at your uni, and see if there’s a way you can progress to next year, because it’s not your fault you won’t get the credits, they accepted the EC, therefore they’re liable for that
