LAET 2.0

Just tell me anything about LAET if you are an existing student or finished year 13. Specially the uniform. Like smart trousers is calm. I dont about shoes cuz i dont like smart shoes and i cant wear trainers so i'd really appreciate recommendations. Also, do u have to tuck your shirt in😭¿ Anyone watching this who has already enrolled for 2024: why am i seeing people in groups from the same school😭 i was literally alone there😭 iam not worried about making friends but there’s way too many people who follow their friends💀 like bro just go woodhouse or something 😭

Fr😭 honestly i may have made a mistake. Cuz i changed my options because i didn’t get a 7 in bio. I could’ve gone somewhere else but instead, i changed 2 of my options. Psychology and bio. Only because i got 6 in physics and bio. The requirement for psychology is 2 grade 7s in sciences💔 i only got one😭😭😭

Hi could anyone who’s just been accepted to LAET, or already enrolled tell me what predicted grades you roughly need, as I’m entering year 11 and wish to apply soon. I want to study Economics, Politics, Geography and Arabic, my current top 8 grades are:

English Literature: 9
English Language: 9
Physics: 9
Geography: 8
Statistics: 8
Biology: 7
Maths: 7
Spanish: 7
GPA - 8

Do you think these grades are good enough?

Me personally, i think thats more than enough if you’re just thinking of applying. But remember to go to the enrolment day as soon as u get your results. Someone ik went late and laet told him that further maths and physics seats were all taken. Therefore just remember to go as soon as u get your results and iam sure they will give a conditional offer when u apply, judging from grades. Good luck with year11

Could you tell me how enrolment day works? Is it like those who have an offer have to go there and it’s a first come first serve basis? That sounds like a horror as I live so far away.

the time you enrol is based on your APS (average point score) so if it’s 8+ you go at 9am if it’s 7.75+ you go at 11am ect ect. i also live quite far away and got there later than i wanted to but still got in. it seemed like some people went to enrol at an early time than what they should’ve so were told to wait so ig that lessened the competition a bit lol

Ohh ok. So based on my APS of 8, I should be made an offer, since they are called in first?

I think as long as u have an offer and meet the minimum requirements, u can go as early as possible. Iam saying this cuz they didn’t calculate my average or ask my name at the door. They just made sure i have a conditional offer and 5 gcses at grade 7s (and above).

As long as u have like 5 7s in your predicted grades they’ll prob give u a conditional offer and then on enrolment day just get there as early as possible. Ignore the group timings (8 average is the earliest) cuz they don’t really check your average. They just check if u meet the minimum requirements at the entrance. Even if u dont meet the requirements of the subjects u want to do (eg u got a 6 in maths but want to do maths) just pick a different subject and then try to change it after a week in school.

Maths is bare popular tho so it’s highly unlikely that someone will want to drop it later on. Ik someone who dropped maths tho

Cl i dont know anyone who’s done that. Its kinda late now as well but email them. Thats the only way to find out. Try and be as persuasive as possible (eg give them a couple of reference on your email). There was someone who got enrolled in the first week but he might have been on the waiting list or something. Don’t know him personally he mentioned it in the gc.
