Is it worth buying freshers tickets online (FATSOMA)? bit scared its a scam.. I keep getting notifications on whatsapp about it and it saying tickets won't be sold at door on the day. Should I just show up on the day if I change my mind?

It’s a scam
Tickets might not be sold on the door but there’ll be loads of people reselling their tickets online or they usually aren’t even sold out on fatsoma either.
Follow your university students union (and the SUs for other universities in Plymouth) social media accounts for information about official freshers events.

Backing PQ up, don't buy the FATSOMA tickets. I swear they make bucket loads of money from students excited about going to Uni and Freshers. You won't have any trouble getting into events without buying their wristbands. Besides, if you want to meet other students from your Uni, do the SU events.
For the rest of your time at Uni the only time you'll hear about Fatsoma is when new students ask you if its worth it to buy those wristbands.
TL;DR You won't miss out by not buying a Fatsoma wristband.

Hi 🙂
Personally, I would recommend purchasing any event tickets on the day or as single tickets if you are sure you'd like to go- I bought a Fresher's Pass in my first year and only went to one event or so because plans change, you meet new people, and there is plenty of other events to go to when starting! The UPSU does some amazing welcome week events, from club nights, live music, fresher's fairs and markets, to inflatables, and themed nights- definitely check them out on the official welcome page for a range of activities and events!
Have fun! 🥳
