I've been in the care of psychiatric hospitals and had five admissions in total over three years then got diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when I was 24 before embarking into private home education when I found out my maths ability that a child in year 2 but my English is a year 11 so my maths is really bad for my age. I've had increasing challenges in college regarding academic achievement in getting maths qualifications like functional skills level 1 and level 2.
I left a special needs school in 2015 without any basic qualifications to my name and then I became mentally unwell at 17, 18, 22, and 23 before returning to education at 24 and getting a level 1 in maths and a level 2 in English I feel deep down I need to focus on getting the grasp of year 2 maths via a private tutor.
I'm currently looking for a part-time job in retail after having a year and a bit of experience volunteering at a charity shop the good news is the job doesn't involve anything to do with maths or numbers so I can work part-time for a living as well as do my education, training at a lower incredibly basic level for maths at college in the meantime.
I've got a private tutor though who will help me grasp the basics of numbers, geometry etc.
Can anybody help me with maths? For some reason when I focus on maths, I want to learn the maths but for some reason, I fixated on the Imperial maths system.
