are these good a level choices?

For my a levels, I chose maths, history, economics and classical civilisation, with the hopes of studying ppe at uni. The only thing is, a lot of unis require an a* in maths for ppe, which is insanely high, so i'm also considering law based on how the start of yr 12 goes. Are these good subjects for ppe/law? ik that law favours essay based subjects but i feel like history works quite well for it.
Your subjects will be good for PPE or for Law. Yes, history is often considered a useful subject for law because of the skills you develop from it.

i think politics is better for PPE coming from a politics student it will help you so much and its far more easier than history
also classics isnt as academically rigorous so it may hold you down

also do an EPQ!!!
thanks for the advice! i was actually considering politics so i may switch classics to that ! the only thing is, taking 2 new subjects (economics & politics) sounds quite daunting whereas i did classics at gcse, so would have some background knowledge. how is the politics workload?

there is not much workload in politics as long as you keep up with the work and its quite manageale doesnt take AS MUCH as your time and is quite respected
i would recommend theology and phiolosophy if your school does it as its great for critical thinking but classics is fine too

For law you can pick any subjects. Theres no specific subject requirements. As long as you get the grades required you will be fine. An essay subject might be useful. But pick whichever subjects you think you will best grades in for law.

A lot of students who aim for top russell groups do EPQs

you just have to balance it with your a levels i have plenty of friends who do them

its like an extra a level

Not with FOUR A levels - it's not necessary.

No, it doesn't - unis look at THREE A levels unless you are doing Maths/FMaths. I can assure you that being involved with UCAS for over thirty years shows absoultuly no truth in what you say.

Hey i do 4 a levels AND EPQ and the way an EPQ is structured, its so easy to do in y12 summer and its not as stressful as you may think it is since its half an a level

Also EPQs do give you advantages as say you missed your uni offer by a grade, unis look at EPQs

Its very handy and its something you can easily finish off in y12 summer like i did and i would encourage you to do it as 4 a levels show your rigorous academic side but the EPQ also helps show your passionate side and helps you even structure your personal statement or something to talk about in interviews

Any other a level student would agree it is helpful if you organise and keep on top of your workload, yes its amazing that u are involved in UCAS but i assure you as a student in this position, it has helped me so much! and i'd recommend it to anyone to do an EPQ as it singlehandedly helps you in more than you think

i have done 4 a levels and an EPQ its MANAGEABLE and helped me use the EPQ to not only gain offers but efficiently use

you can say you worked in UCAS for 70 years it honestly does not matter, the reason TSR exists is because we gain advice from fellow students and for you to be completely ignorant about the positives of an EPQ saying you're some sort of an expert is just willd to me

Which four though and were they linear?

There's no need to be rude - where did I say EPQs weren't any good? Three A levels plus an EPQ is fine ... many of my students do this.
