You can do it as a separate subject on the side should you wish. However, it's not likely you would need it unless you're aiming for a very quantitative degree at a top end uni.

Why did they say no? Did they give a reason why?

i think it would be too hard to do outside of school, not impossible but yeah
ill always aim for top end unis but still unsure on what degree i want to do or if ill even go uni
i like maths especially the past two years with teachers who are passionate about maths and teaching it. ive always found it easy at gcse. i rlly want to do it

Unless you're specifically going for a quantitative degree at a top end uni, you're not likely going to need FM.
The typical sort of degrees where they would really recommend you do it for include physics, economics, maths, and engineering. Outside of these subjects, it's nice to have but not essential.

ive always found it easy at gcse.
Not the same thing at A Level, especially not Further Maths.

do people only learn stuff to do specific degrees at uni or to go top unis. why cant i learn it just because i enjoy learning why does there have to be a reason. i know its hard and to you it seems “pointless” but thanks for the advice

On the contrary, I actually support the idea that people should learn subjects and do qualifications because they want to do the subject as opposed to doing qualifications to get specific jobs or go into specific degrees.

What I am actually trying to imply is that with 3 A Levels, your plate is kind of full. Should you do FM, you should only do it as a side subject if you can manage it or do it in a gap year. Since you're denied it at your college, you don't have much other choice.
