How easily could I switch degrees?
Hi! So I’m preparing to start my university applications, and I’m still in 2 minds for what to apply for. The two options I’m currently considering are IR and Philosophy, and both would be paired with Spanish. While I’m still 50/50, I’ve been told to apply for IR, as it’s more competitive as I’ll likely be able to switch to philosophy if i study it as one of my 3 subjects in years 1 and 2. I’m applying for Scottish unis only. Would this be possible and is it really that simple?

If you have so much doubt it is extremely likely you will end up trying to switch or will be unhappy with your degree. Choose what YOU want to study and what YOU want to do as a job, how prestigious the degree won't affect your satisfaction with it!
